Practicum

 

For the final semester of the International Education Management program at MIIS, I completed a semester-long practicum, which was an opportunity to gain professional experience while participating in long-distance videoconferencing sessions. 

 

Since June 2015, I was working as a graduate intern for the Center for Global Education at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater. My projects that I carried out to complete my practicum had a focus on the Global Experiences (Education Abroad) part of the office. 

 

Aside from the 7-11 projects for the practicum, I was responsible for administrative duties in relation to aiding the Global Experiences Coordinators and the CGE Director. These tasks included:

• Recruiting at Plan-It Purples, admitted student orientations, and Premiere Days, where prospective students visit the UW-Whitewater campus

• Managing student applications in TDS for Study Abroad (formerly known as StudioAbroad)

• Answering general inquiries about study abroad from students and parents

• Organizing programming for Global Experiences

• Overseeing the CGE's social media presence
